– unless she has been touched by the compassionate hand of Sisters Place.

Then she no longer is lost in aimless desperation. She embraces the new opportunity she has been given. She recovers. She progresses toward independence. She is able to celebrate each day with her family.

Sisters Place specializes in filling the gaps that exist in addressing our residents' needs: mental health care, life skills training, career development, substance abuse recovery, and housing placement assistance when the family is ready to move on. Since its inception in 1993, Sisters Place has served over 140 mothers. . We are proud that our programs help these families break the cycle of poverty and homelessness, rebuild their lives, and achieve self-sufficiency.

To learn what this means in real terms, read Executive Director Sister Mary Parks' article included in the Sisters Place 2007 Annual Report.

And read also one mother's story as told at the "Setting a Place for My Sister" breakfast, October 3, 2008.
